IFMGA stands for International Federation of Mountain Guide Associations. The IFMGA carnet is the highest internationally recognised qualification for instruction and guiding in rock and ice climbing, mountaineering and off-piste skiing and ski touring.
Andy comes from a background of exploratory mountaineering, always wanting to see what’s over the next horizon. From early days of scrambling in the UK’s Lake District, through rock climbing and winter climbing throughout Britain and Europe, he's always been attracted to and rewarded by going to new places. He transfers that same philosophy to his guiding work, and trys to get as much variety and contrast as possible.
Bruce Goodlad, has been climbing and mountaineering in the UK and around the world since leaving school, and has worked full time in the mountains since 1995.
Dave started climbing in 1982 in the local quarries in Lancashire, with regular trips to the Lake District, North Wales and Scotland. He made his first trip to the alps in 1985 and has climbed here ever since. He has made 5 trips to the Himalaya on climbing expeditions and also worked as a climbing guide out there.
John has been climbing and skiing in the Mont Blanc massif and all over the alps for nineteen years. Originally from South West England, John now lives in the Chamonix valley and can see Mont Blanc from his bedroom window.
John's company Mont Blanc Guides Ltd. specialises in 6 day all inclusive Mont Blanc ascent weeks, running June to September.
Jonny's passion for the mountains started where he grew up - the West Coast of Scotland - and probably about the same time too! His youth was spent rock climbing in Glen Coe and Glen Nevis and also on the great ice climbs of Ben Nevis. His love for alpinism and skiing has taken him to the European Alps and onwards and upwards to adventures in the Tien Shan, Pervian Andes ,Greenland, Canadian Rockies, New Zealand and Australia.
Owen Samuel’s life revolves around the mountains. He loves the changing seasons and with them the new challenges the mountains offer. Whether it’s Alpinism, Rock or Ice Climbing, Off piste skiing or Ski Mountaineering Owen is out there having fun.
Owen really enjoys guiding people through the mountains. Whether your a novice or an experienced mountaineer, Owen will get the most out of your time together.
As well as having an extensive knowledge of the Alps, Owen has climbed and skied all over the world visiting such places as Nepal, Alaska, Patagonia, Iceland, Norway, Jordan and many other places….
Sébastien has more than 10 years experience guiding in the Mont Blanc massif and the surrounding region. A native of the French alps, Seb is fluent in english and has worked for many years with english clients.
